From an email message that I recently received:
The University of Missouri School of Law invites applications for a non-tenure-track position in Tax Law. The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to teach tax-related courses in our J.D. curriculum, in addition to other courses within the individual’s expertise. We seek candidates with a strong commitment to and enthusiasm for teaching and service and a record or promise of excellent teaching. A J.D. is required. Scholarship will not be an expectation. The appointment comes with the title of Associate Teaching Professor of Law and with the opportunity for promotion and security of position. We strongly prefer candidates with significant tax law practice experience.
The University of Missouri-Columbia is the flagship campus of the University of Missouri system, and our law school is strongly committed to teaching excellence and to the success of each student. MU is one of only 33 public universities in the country belonging to the Association of American Universities, a group of elite research universities. As both a research and land grant university, we have extraordinary opportunities for interdisciplinary interaction in both research and teaching. In addition, Columbia is a wonderful college town halfway between St. Louis and Kansas City that is regularly ranked as one of the most livable cities in the country.
Application Procedure: Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. To apply, please submit a cover letter and resume at http://hrs.missouri.edu/find-a-job/academic/. Inquiries should be directed to Associate Dean Paul Litton at [email protected] or 573-882-6488.
