It's my pleasure to announce that my friend Phil Pucillo is stepping into the facutly lounge to sit with us for a spell. Phil teaches at Michigan State, where he has been since 2010. Before that he visited with us here at UNC. He began his teaching career at Ave Maria and Phil has also taught at Tulane. Phil writes in constitutional law and ethics, among other areas. Before entering the academy he clerked for Judge Ronald Lee Gilman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and William Traxler of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and practiced with Skadden, Arps in their Washington, DC office. Phil is a hero of mine because of his stand for academic freedom, which is a long story that we should talk about sometime.
