Faculty lounge readers have had a very successful run over the past year or so with trivia — you all picked off trivia on a lawyer's house, Judges' houses, Freedom Riders, an antebellum courthouse, Civil War General Monuments in DC and elsewhere, Confederate general wives', cemetery mounments, and southern monuments. So I'm going to close this year with a really tough one — a picture of a cemetery I visited earlier this year. Where is this cemetery? Good luck, folks. This is tough.
Old City Cemetery, Lynchburg, VA
Jason — you're terrific. That's it exactly.
It's a beautiful setting — you can glimpse a little of the mountains off in the distance if you look through the gates. There's a modest section devoted to Confederate veterans, though the cemetery goes back to the early nineteenth century. Sometime soon I hope to put up a couple of pictures of graves there and the Confederate monument as well.
"Cemetery trivia."
You're "killing" me.
Let the "pun"ishment begin!
