As we mentioned in this earlier post, Campbell University is seeking a new law dean to replace Melissa Essary, who is stepping down and returning to the full-time faculty in June 2012. The University has posted a position announcement here.
I'm not on the search committee but would welcome the opportunity to answer any questions from prospective candidates (or refer your questions to one of my law school colleagues on the search committee).
Tim,
I am not a candidate and understand if you do not feel like answering this question. But must candidates be Christians? I know that Campbell is a Christian school (whatever that means) and that the candidate must "Be able to provide leadership in supporting the Christian purposes of the school." The wording of the qualifications seem to suggest that candidates do NOT have to be Christians, but I wonder is that is actually the case.
Great question, and one that I anticipated. The law school is represented on the search committee by one or more of my colleagues, and I'll invite one of them to respond in the comments section.
