Over at TaxProf, Paul Caron has assembled a valuable list of law school fellowship and visiting assistant professor opportunities. While he sets out a good chunk of these positions, it turns out that in a given year, many other programs may exist. At Drexel, for example, we don't have a formal VAP program – but we do, on occasion, hire visiting assistant professors. Naturally, outside of formal programs, it's a challenge for candidates to discover visiting opportunities. Many legal writing positions, for example, only get posted on the LRW listserv. Generally, it's fair to say that many schools are just beginning to assess their coverage needs for next year. VAP hiring is therefore just beginning. As regular readers know, I am always game to post law school visitor searches – so prospective VAP candidates may want to check back with us from time to time.
