I love this, and it reminds me of a body of work created over the years by my colleague, Erik Jensen, including: (a) Erik M. Jensen, The Shortest Article in Law Review History, 50 J. Legal Educ. 156 (2000); (b) Erik M. Jensen, The Intellectual History of 'The Shortest Article in Law Review History', 59 Case Western Reserve University Law Review 445 (2009); and, (c) Erik M. Jensen, The Unwritten Article, 17 Nova Law Review 785 (1993).

Love it, and especially the published responses. In fact, Erik’s body of work may be more impressive, as it demonstrates a career-long commitment to brevity. I’d like to know the extent of Jensen’s grant money and other support for these projects. If the legal academy is serious about reducing length, footnotes, and pointless duplication in law review articles, it seems to me that financial support of this work is in order.

I invited Professor Jensen to comment on this discussion and his response was: "The work speaks (or, as it were, doesn't speak) for itself."

One word frees us of all the weight and pain in life. That word is love.
