Mary Crossley Named Interim Dean of Pittsburgh Law

Mary Crossley, professor of law and former dean at Pittsburgh Law, has been named interim dean of the law school stepping in for professor Haider Ala Hamoudi.  Crossley joined Pittsburgh in 2005 as dean and holds a JD from Vanderbilt.

Colin Crawford Named Dean of University of Arkansas at Little Rock Law

University of Arkansas at Little Rock has announced that Colin Crawford will be its next law school dean.  He is currently dean at Golden Gate University School of Law.  Crawford, who holds a JD from Harvard, will take over on July 1.

Ben Barros Named Dean of Stetson Law

Stetson Law has announced that Benjamin Barros will be its next dean.  He is currently dean and professor of law at Toledo.  Barros, who holds a JD from Fordham, will take over on July 1.

Andrew Guzman Named Provost of USC

The University of Southern California has announced that its new provost and senior vice president for academic affairs will be Andrew T. Guzman.  Guzman is currently dean of USC  Law.  He will assume the new position on July 1.

Lou Mulligan Named Dean of UMKC Law

UKMC Law has announced that Lou Mulligan will be its next dean.  He is currently interim vice provost for faculty affairs and professor of law at the University of Kansas.  Mulligan, who holds a JD from the University of Michigan, will take over on July 10.

Johanna Bond Named Dean of Rutgers Law School

Rutgers University has announced that Johanna Bond will be the new dean of Rutgers  Law.  She is currently a professor of law at Washington & Lee and has previously served as associate dean for academic affairs.  Bond, who holds a JD from the University of Minnesota and an LL.M from Georgetown, will take over on July 3.

Sophia Lee Named Dean of Penn Law

Penn Law has announced that Sophia Lee will be its next dean.  Lee joined the Penn Law faculty in 2009 and served as deputy dean from 2015-2017.  Lee, who holds a JD and Ph.D from Yale (and an MSW from Berkeley for good measure)  will take over on July 1.

Anthony Niedwiecki Stepping Down as Mitchell Hamline Dean

Anthony Niedwiecki has announced that he will step down as dean of Mitchell Hamline School of Law in June 2024.  Niedwiecki became dean in 2020.  He will rejoin the faculty after a sabbatical.

Michael Waterstone Named Dean of UCLA Law

UCLA Law has announced that Michael Waterstone will be its next dean.  He is currently dean at Loyola LA Law.  Waterstone, who holds a JD from the Harvard, will take over on August 15.

Paul Paton Named Dean of Chapman Law

Chapman University School of Law has announced that Paul Paton will be its next dean.  He is currently a professor of law and ethics at the University of Alberta.  Paton, who holds a JD from the University of Toronto, will take over on June 30.

Beth McCormack Named Dean of Vermont Law

Vermont Law School has announced that Beth McCormack will be its new dean.  McCormack joined the faculty in 2011 and has served as assistant director of the legal writing program, vice dean of students, deputy vice dean for academic affairs, interim president and dean.  She holds a JD from Vermont Law.   

Laura Rosenbury Named President of Barnard College

We're pretty late to the party on this but Barnard College has announced that Laura Rosenbury will be its next president.  Rosenbury is currently dean at Florida Law.  She will assume the Barnard Presidency on July 1, 2023.  

UA Little Rock Names Two Dean Finalists

University of Arkansas Little Rock has announced that their two law school dean finalists are Colin Crawford (Golden Gate University) and Christian Johnson (Widener).

Elaine Gagliardi Named Dean of Montana Law

The University of Montana School of Law has announced that Elaine Gagliardi will be its new dean.  She has served as interim dean since June 2022 and has been a faculty member at the school since 1995.  Gagliardi, who holds a JD from Montana Law, will also oversee the University of Montana's Department of Public Administration and Policy.

Garry Jenkins Named President of Bates College

Bates College has announced that Garry Jenkins will be its next president.  Jenkins  is currently dean at the University of Minnesota Law.  He will assume the Bates Presidency on July 1, 2023.  What a great hire for Bates!

Todd Clark Named Dean of Widener Delaware Law

Widener University Delaware Law School has announced that Todd Clark will be its new dean.  He is currently a professor at St. Thomas University College of Law (FL) where he previously served as senior associate dean of academic affairs.  Clark, who holds a JD from University of Pittsburgh School of Law, will  take over on July 1.

Alena Allen Named Dean of LSU Law

Louisiana State University Law  has announced that Alena Allen will be its new dean.  She is currently deputy director for the AALS and professor of law at the University of Arkansas School of Law.  She was previously interim dean at Arkansas.  Allen, who holds a JD from Yale, will  take over on July 17. What a great hire for LSU!

University of Missouri (Columbia) Law Seeks Dean

Brad Toben Stepping Down as Baylor Law Dean

The longest serving ABA law school dean, Baylor's Brad Toben, is stepping down from his position effective July 1.  He will return to the faculty. Toben joined the Baylor faculty in 1983 and became  dean in 1991.  Associate Dean Patricia Wilson will serve as interim dean next year.
