California Western School of Law (CWSL) is seeking applications for a full-time Associate Professor of Law position with an emphasis on teaching Legal Skills courses, beginning in Fall 2025. This is a tenure-track appointment. Responsibilities include teaching Legal Skills I (objective analysis, writing, and research), and Legal Skills II (persuasive writing and oral advocacy). There may be opportunities to teach additional courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
Applicants must have strong academic credentials, a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school or foreign equivalent, proficiency in legal writing and research, and a record of scholarship. Law practice experience, which may include judicial clerkships, is preferred. Applicants with experience teaching and/or working with students are also preferred.

We have the distinction of being San Diego’s oldest law school and are committed to preparing students to be practice-ready lawyers. CWSL is the recipient of numerous community service awards. We are also home to numerous outstanding programs, including the California Innocence and Justice Clinic, Community Law Project, Trademark Clinic and the New Media Rights Program. Members of the faculty have national and international reputations for their scholarly contributions.
The annual base salary is $130,000.00.
