I learned that Henry Monaghan passed away on January 1. Monaghan taught generations (and my, as well) federal courts.
Monaghan discussed in Columbia Law Review "Brown's departure from the original understanding is not only defensible, but was probably the Supreme Court's only legitimate response to the nation's escalating moral and social turmoil." (1988, Columbia Law Review.)
He was responible for Chervon v. v. Natural Resources Defense Council. (I am unsure about this one; CLR members were certain.)
