CFP: Touro Institute for Health Law, Bioethics, and Policy's First Annual Symposium

The first annual symposium of Touro Law Center's Institute for Health Law, Bioethics, and Policy will focus on the topic of Reproductive Health Policy. This symposium will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the Touro University Cross River Campus, located at 3 Times Square in New York City. The symposium will address policy issues involved in the practice of reproductive care in the United States. Broken into three panels, with three speakers on each panel, the topics covered will be as follows:

• In Vitro Fertilization– seeking presentations that focus on the policies that guide the practice of IVF.
• Embryonic and prenatal genetic testing– seeking presentations that analyze the policy issues involved in offering genetic testing.
• Abortion access (including pharmacologic abortion) – seeking speakers who will address specific state laws and policies in the post-Dobbs era that affect who and how women can access the full range of reproductive care (speakers can discuss both enacted laws and proposed legislation).

We seek both panel speakers and poster presentations. This symposium is partnered with the Cambridge Quarterly Journal of Ethics. All speakers will be offered the opportunity to publish a paper on their presentation topic in a special edition of the journal.   Please submit your abstract of 500 words or less by Monday, December 2nd at midnight.
