We are searching for: (1) a full-time faculty member, either entry-level or lateral, to direct our Bar Success program; (2) an entry-level, tenure-track faculty member to teach Property and related courses; and (3) a full-time, entry-level clinical faculty member to teach Legal Writing. Bar Success
The University of Idaho College of Law seeks to hire a full-time faculty member to direct its bar success program. The position, open to entry-level and lateral applicants, is a fiscal-year clinical appointment with faculty voting rights and associated faculty governance responsibilities. The faculty member will create and implement programming designed to improve students’ bar preparation efforts, including the administration and continued development of the Vandal Bar Success Program. Examples of duties include advising, counseling, and supporting upper-year law students; teaching bar success and related courses; and leading strategic planning efforts to improve bar passage rates. The faculty member will also participate in university service and outreach activities. Candidates must have a J.D. from an accredited school or the equivalent; successfully completed a bar exam in any state; at least three years of post-J.D. practice, clerking, or teaching experience; experience teaching, or related experience; and experience creating a safe, welcoming, and dynamic learning environment of belonging for all students, or related experience. Property
The University of Idaho College of Law seeks to hire an entry-level, tenure-track faculty member in the area of Property Law at its Boise location. The faculty member will be responsible for teaching Property Law and other related courses determined in consultation with the dean, with potential areas of need including Administrative Law, Environmental Law, Housing Law, Land Use Law, Native Land Law, Natural Resources Law, Tribal Cultural Property Law, Urban Development Law, and Water Law. The faculty member will also develop a scholarly, outreach, and engagement agenda that will enrich the scholarly and legal communities and those they serve; mentor and advise students; and participate in university service and outreach activities. Candidates must have a J.D. from an accredited school or the equivalent; experience teaching, or related experience; and experience in creating a safe, welcoming, and dynamic learning environment of belonging for all students, or related experience. Legal Writing
The University of Idaho College of Law seeks to hire a full-time, entry-level clinical faculty member to teach legal writing courses at its Boise location. The position is an academic-year appointment with faculty voting rights and associated faculty governance responsibilities. The faculty member will teach two sections of first-year legal writing each semester; work collaboratively with other legal writing faculty to develop the course curriculum and major writing assignments; and, after the first year, teach an additional course dependent on the faculty member’s areas of interest and the College’s curricular needs. The faculty member will also mentor and advise students and participate in university service and outreach activities. Candidates must have a J.D. from an accredited school or the equivalent; at least three years of post-J.D. practice, clerking, or teaching experience; experience in legal research and writing; experience teaching, or related experience; and experience in creating a safe, welcoming, and dynamic learning environment of belonging for all students, or related experience.
