From a recent email message:
The University of Mississippi School of Law invites applications and nominations for as many as three professors during the 2025-2026 academic year. This is a tenure track position and appointments will be at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor depending on experience. Course preferences include the following: Intellectual Property/Trademarks, Wills and Estates, Family Law, Bankruptcy, Business Associations, Secured Transactions, Corporate Finance, Civil Procedure, Contracts, Labor Law, Employment Law, and Health Care Law. Alternatively, the Law School is also seeking visiting professors (of any rank) for these positions and is flexible regarding one semester (fall or spring) or full academic year visitorships.
The Law School also invites applications and nominations for our VAP program. VAPs spend four semesters (Fall 2025 through Spring 2027) in residence at the Law School, gaining both teaching experience and the opportunity to devote substantial time to research, writing, and other scholarly pursuits. VAPs are given the opportunity to present work in progress to the Law School faculty and, more generally, to receive feedback and mentoring from faculty members in preparation for the academic job market. Course loads and teaching schedules are devised with sensitivity to the timing of the job market process.
To apply, please submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and contact information for three references through the University of Mississippi's employment site at careers.olemiss.edu. The positions will be open until filled or an adequate applicant pool is reached. Questions should be directed to Professor Farish Percy ([email protected]) Chair of the Faculty Appointments Committee.
