Drake University Law School invites applicants from entry level and lateral candidates to join our law faculty and direct the Criminal Defense Clinic beginning July 1, 2024. This is an exciting opportunity to grow our beloved Criminal Defense Clinic following the retirement of the clinic's longtime director, Professor Bob Rigg. The Criminal Defense Clinic currently emphasizes representation of low-income clients in misdemeanor cases before the Polk County District Court. We encourage interested candidates to reimagine the reach and impact of this clinic, should the candidates so desire.
The faculty appointment can be tenured, tenure-track, or long-term contract depending on the candidate's qualifications and preferences. A fuller description of the position and instructions on how to apply can be found in the attachment or at this website: https://jobs.drake.edu/jobs/08897166-bd74-44d1-b050-c69fbb7dea78.
Please contact Professor Suzan M. Pritchett at [email protected] if you have any questions. We will consider application on a rolling basis, and candidates should apply by February 28, 2024, to be assured of full consideration. Those newer to clinical teaching are encouraged to review the Handbook for New Clinical Teachers published by the Clinical Legal Education Association available at https://www.cleaweb.org/new-clinicians.
