The Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University is pleased to invite applications for the Howard Lichtenstein Distinguished Professorship. The Professorship is for a distinguished scholar and teacher of legal ethics who will promote Hofstra Law’s longstanding commitment to the field of legal ethics and act as a conduit between Hofstra Law and the legal profession. In addition to the normal duties of a tenured faculty member, the Distinguished Professor is tasked with bringing key figures to campus to speak at our annual distinguished lecture and working with the Executive Director of the Monroe H. Freedman Institute for the Study of Legal Ethics to organize Hofstra Law’s ethics conferences and other educational programs.

Applicants should have a distinguished record of academic achievement, superior teaching ability, and significant experience in the study and teaching of legal ethics, as well as prominence in the professional ethics community.
