The William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, invites applications from lateral or entry-level candidates for a faculty position that is expected to begin July 1, 2024.
For this position, we seek to add to our faculty expertise and programmatic offerings in Dispute Resolution and Dispute Processing, which includes not only Civil Procedure and Alternative Dispute Resolution, but also the increasingly complementary fields of Torts, Contracts, Legal Ethics, Law and Economics, Empirical Legal Studies, Law and Psychology, Tribal Courts and Traditional Dispute Resolution, and more. The law school’s Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution is renowned for its study of the nature of conflict resolution and lawyers’ roles in dispute management; the Center operates as an intellectual hub for faculty with diverse yet intersecting scholarly interests and expertise. Our ideal candidate is (or projects to be) a productive scholar whose work in the fields of Civil Procedure, Dispute Resolution, and related subjects will broaden and deepen our expertise; the ideal candidate is also a talented legal educator with a commitment to teaching Civil Procedure and other courses to the next generation of lawyers.

Applicants for law school faculty positions should submit a letter of interest, a detailed resume with cites or links to any published works, and at least three professional references. In the cover letter or in a separate document, candidates should describe their scholarly agenda and also address the influence of their background and/or their commitment to teaching a diverse student body.
