Why did you end up including more than one version with E.C.? One can make many arguments both ways.

Good thing RFK, Jr. doesn't play covers of Beatle songs! We'd have to endure the endless posturing possibilities over that one.

Btw, one is quite sure that those demonizing EC are quite unaware of the basis.

People reports “Clapton received his first of two AstraZeneca vaccines against the virus, and expressed contempt in a letter to Robin Monotti, who later shared it on his Telegram with the guitarist's permission, according to Rolling Stone.

"I took the first jab of AZ and straight away had severe reactions which lasted 10 days. I recovered eventually and was told it would be 12 weeks before the second one…" Clapton wrote.

"About six weeks later I was offered and took the second AZ shot, but with a little more knowledge of the dangers. Needless to say the reactions were disastrous, my hands and feet were either frozen, numb or burning, and pretty much useless for two weeks, I feared I would never play again, (I suffer with peripheral neuropathy and should never have gone near the needle.) But the propaganda said the vaccine was safe for everyone."

Now, notwithstanding some who might be expected emphasize with and not to demonize a GUITAR PLAYER for expressing his personal experience TAKING the vax, here, we have yet another shining example of how a condescending view of the ability of adults to think for themselves can cause some to demonize others for quite legitimate points of view.

Burn the albums! Eradicate his name! Long live such FREEDOM in this brave new world (the freedom to hate others for their viewpoints).

one of my favorite jams. For me the version with Prince reigns supreme. The looks of amazement of the rest of these allstars while he goes off says it all.

Some (many, most?) saw those looks as polite amazement, it is true.
Amazement that this showboat went so far off the track that he lost the plot, the theme, and the purpose: as usual, it was just this egomaniac trying to show off. Ever see the video of him when James Brown invited both MJ and Prince to "sit in" with him. Prince did the same thing. Over the top, tried to turn it into the Prince show. Didn't work. Embarrassing. I was waiting for him to take off his shirt and start humping Tom Petty.
His solo on this one started well, but, by the end, they mercifully cut it off right in the middle of what he thought was going to be his big finish. He plays well but couldn't get out of the way of his unrestrained need to take over to show off to gain approval.
