From an email message I received earlier today:
South Texas College of Law Houston invites applications from both experienced and entry-level faculty for a full-time, tenure-track position teaching legal research and writing beginning in the 2023-24 academic year. Faculty teaching legal writing at South Texas College Houston are fully integrated tenure-track faculty members with the same benefits and scholarship and service requirements as doctrinal tenure-track professors. Legal writing faculty teach the required first-year legal writing course, which includes legal research, legal analysis, legal writing, and oral advocacy. Legal writing faculty develop assignments, meet with students individually as needed, and provide detailed feedback on students’ writing assignments. South Texas College of Law Houston has evening as well as daytime classes, so candidates should be available to teach in the evening during occasional semesters. We seek candidates with outstanding academic records who are passionate about legal writing and committed to both excellence in teaching and sustained scholarly achievement. Legal writing teaching experience is preferred but not required. Members of minority groups and others whose backgrounds will contribute to the diversity of the faculty are especially encouraged to apply.
