John Fogerty never visited Lodi before he wrote this song, just as he never worked on a Mississippi riverboat, but he still succeeded in expressing a nearly universal sentiment. The residents of Lodi, in California's Central Valley, do not seem to mind being identified as an obscure and stuckable place, having used "Stuck in Lodi" as the theme for municipal events.
Although it was originally released as the B side of "Bad Moon Rising," it has become one of CCR's most frequently covered cuts. Don't miss Fogerty's explanation of the song at the bottom of this post.
