"Bury Me Beneath the Willow" is a traditional American folk song. It was recorded by the Carter Family in 1936, but references in collections go back to the early twentieth century. There are hundreds of clips of this song, mostly (but not always) by female vocalists. The cuts below feature guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, dulcimer, harmonica, and autoharp.

You and I really share musical interests! I am giving a talk in a couple of weeks on the history of bluegrass and country music and chose many of these version of this song to show just how good the song is as it passes through so many voices. Dolly, Emmylou, and Linda's version is far and away my favorite of these.
