From an email message that I received recently:
California Western School of Law (CWSL) seeks applicants to fill two entry-level tenure-track posts to begin on or about August 1, 2022. We are looking for candidates with strong academic backgrounds, commitment to excellence in teaching, and demonstrated potential to be productive scholars. Specifically, we are interested in candidates with a strong desire to teach Civil Procedure or Contracts; those who would contribute to the vibrancy and diversity of our faculty are particularly encouraged to apply. (NOTE: We will have a separate lateral appointments committee, which will be advertising separately).
A non-profit established in 1924, CWSL is an ABA accredited and AALS member with the distinction of being San Diego’s oldest law school. We pride ourselves on the diversity of our student body: 50% of this year’s incoming students are from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We are likewise committed to having a faculty that reflects our student body and community. By our continuing to rethink the status quo in legal education – balancing a rigorous practical education with cutting edge scholarship and community service – CWSL graduates have earned a reputation for their manifest practice-readiness.
CWSL is located in downtown San Diego, literally overlooking the Pacific Ocean. A city of breathtaking beauty, we have perfect weather, miles of beaches, plus nearby mountains and desert. We are a family-friendly, diverse city with light city traffic and walkable neighborhoods.
Application materials should include a cover letter, C.V., research agenda, and a diversity statement that addresses how you will contribute to our goal of building a diverse faculty. Please direct application materials and questions to the chair of the Appointments Committee, Professor Daniel Yeager, at Appointments@cwsl.edu.
