The Temple University Beasley School of Law solicits applications for a non-tenure track professor of legal research and writing (LRW). Temple’s LRW Program is highly-regarded and nationally ranked, and offers its professors participation in faculty governance, funding for professional development and conferences, and summer grants and other support for the production of scholarship. LRW faculty teach a two-semester first-year course integrating legal research, legal writing, and oral advocacy skills. Each faculty member is responsible for one section of the LRW course with approximately 30-35 students, as well as teaching an upper level seminar. The LRW Program has no director, and faculty have a great deal of curricular freedom, centered around a set of shared goals for the program.
The minimum qualifications for the position are a J.D., an excellent academic record, law practice experience, and a strong commitment to excellent teaching and to producing high-quality legal scholarship. Demonstrated excellence in LRW teaching and published scholarship are beneficial but not required.
