From an email message that I received earlier today:
Long-time Detroit Mercy Law Professor Howard B. Abrams has passed away. He was 79. Howard served on the Detroit Mercy Law faculty since 1977, teaching a range of courses but focused primarily on Copyright and Entertainment Law. He was a brilliant legal thinker who thrived on intellectual life. He was also an exceedingly decent man. He brought gravity to every conversation, fought passionately for the interests of the law school and its students, and nurtured new faculty with good advice and kindness. The Detroit Mercy Law community will miss him greatly.
