"He'll Have to Go" was written by the husband-wife team of Joe and Audrey Allison, inspired by a telephone call in which he could not hear her soft voice above the din of a party. Released in 1959 by Jim Reeves, it reached number one on the Country Chart and number two on the Pop Chart. There have been many covers, as well as an answering song (be sure to check it out at the bottom of the post).
