Duquesne University Law has announced that its new dean will be April Barton, currently associate dean of academic affairs at Villanova Law. Barton will take over from Maureen Lally-Green in July. She holds a JD from Villanova.

This should be a good hire for Duquesne. While occasionally teaching at Villanova I had a good number of opportunities to interact with Barton and always found her to be fair, hard working, and highly organized - all traits that are highly desirable in a dean.
