I was sorry to hear from Bill Turnier that long-time UNC law professor (and for the past twenty years emeritus professor) Paul Haskell passed away this week. Paul taught property and trusts and estates and is the co-author of the legendary Bergin and Haskell on Future Interests. He was around the law school with some frequency when I first started there, though I saw him infrequently by the end of my time in Chapel Hill. He was always kind to ask about how the students were doing and also about the latest in trusts and estates pedagogy. Here are some tributes to him when he retired from Carolina Law back in 1998.
