CASE WESTERN RESERVE UNIVERSITY (CWRU) SCHOOL OF LAW invites applications for a Director of the Academic and Writing Support Program and Writing Center beginning in the 2018-2019 academic year.
The individual will also have the faculty rank of Instructor. Depending on experience and qualifications, the initial contract will be for a period ranging from one to five years. Essential Functions of the position include: 1) hiring student teaching assistants for the Legal Writing Center; 2) supervising student teaching assistants; 3) conducting academic support workshops for students; 4) tutoring students in need of academic support; 5) designing and implementing supplementary instruction in bar-exam preparation; and 6) designing and teaching an academic support section of a doctrinal course.
Mandatory qualifications: J.D. degree from an approved, ABA accredited school; Bar passage in at least one state; Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; A record of high academic achievement, which can be illustrated by percentage/rank in class, graduation honors, CALI awards, or other academic accolades. Preferred qualifications: Experience in academic support and bar exam preparation; Other educational experience, such as tracking student outcomes.
