The University of Connecticut School of Law solicits applications for one or two tenured or tenure-track faculty positions to commence in fall 2018. The School of Law is the top-ranked public law school in the Northeast, with a nationally landmarked campus in Hartford, and part of one of the nation’s top research universities.

Successful candidates will teach courses; advise students on independent projects; complete research in their academic areas of interest; and publish scholarship. As members of the faculty, successful candidates will participate in faculty management via committee work; participate in national organizations related to their area of research/scholarship interest; attend and speak at national, regional and local conferences and other events; work closely with other departments and faculty; and perform related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications: A JD from an accredited institution or equivalent terminal degree such as Ph.D. in a relevant field (equivalent foreign degrees are acceptable); a demonstrated capacity for serious and sustained scholarly work of a quality commensurate with, or leading to, a tenured position; a well-defined research and teaching agenda; and demonstrated skills to be an effective teacher.
Preferred Qualifications: Expertise and ability to teach in one or more of the following areas: inequalities related to race and ethnicity, advanced constitutional law, criminal procedure, commercial law, intellectual property, trusts and estates, evidence, and other areas of specialization; the completion of one or more works of scholarship that demonstrate intellectual depth and facility with written expression; and a demonstrated ability to contribute through research, teaching, and public engagement to the diversity and excellence of the law school.
This is a full time 9-month position. Salary and position rank at Associate or Full Professor will be commensurate with background, qualifications, and experience.
