It’s my pleasure to welcome Scott Norberg as a guest blogger on The Faculty Lounge for the month of August. Scott was the founding Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Florida International University College of Law. In his original day job he teaches and writes about commercial law and bankruptcy, but he has also become a leader in the ongoing debate on law-school standards and accreditation. Scott was full-time Deputy Managing Director for the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar from 2011 to 2014, and has served on the ABA Data Policy and Collection and Standards Review Committees. So he has observed the recent upheavals from a valuable vantage point.
Scott recently posted a new article on SSRN entitled “The Case for an ABA Accreditation Standard on Employment Outcomes,” which you can get here. I offered to introduce Scott’s visit to the Lounge with some introductory thoughts on his article, and Scott agreed to join us anyway. Those thoughts appear in the post that follows. In the meantime, welcome Scott to the Lounge.
