In a positive development for legal scholarship, the Northwestern University Law Review will accept "exclusive submissions" from now through January 28, 2017. Authors are guaranteed a response by February 17, on the condition that the article is submitted nowhere else in the meantime. Authors must also commit in advance to accept an offer of publication if given.
This approach moves the NU Law Review more into line with scholarly journals in other fields, with the added bonus of a quick response. It is also timed to allow authors to submit to other journals during the spring window, in the event that their articles are not accepted by NU.

Exclusive Submission Track
We are accepting exclusive submissions for Volume 112 through January 28, 2017 11:59 PM Central Time. For all pieces submitted in accordance with the instructions outlined below, the Law Review guarantees Articles Board consideration and publication decision by February 17, 2017. Furthermore, articles receiving a publication offer via the exclusive submission track will be published in one of the first two Issues of Volume 112.
In exchange for this prioritized and timely consideration, participating author agrees to withhold the article submitted through our exclusive submission track from submission to any other publication until receiving a decision back from us. Authors not receiving publication offers are free to submit elsewhere after February 17, 2017.
Please note that by submitting an article via the exclusive submission track, the author agrees to accept a binding publication offer, should one be extended.
To submit, please email your article manuscript, a cover letter, and CV to Moon Hee Lee, Senior Articles Editor, at m-lee2017@nlaw.edu. Please kindly title the subject line “2017 Exclusive Submission Track.”
