The University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law is in the midst of a sustained period of growth and renewal. In its Strategic Plan Energy.Skills.Excellence. Calgary Law set itself the dual goals of enhancing its international eminence in the areas of energy, environmental and natural resources law and of continuing its position of national leadership in the area of experiential learning. Since 2011, we have made fifteen new Faculty appointments, and we are looking to make further appointments to begin in 2017 and in years to follow.
The faculty is now conducting three searches. (1) The Faculty of Law invites applications for a Chair in Energy Market Regulation. The Chair will be held at the rank of Associate or Full Professor commensurate with qualifications and experience. This will be a Limited Term appointment for five years. The anticipated start date will be July 1, 2017, but alternate dates may be considered for exceptional candidates. More details are here.
(2) The Faculty of Law, University of Calgary, invites applications for up to four tenure or tenure-track appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or full Professor. Rank will be assessed based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2017, but alternate dates may be considered for exceptional candidates.
Applications are welcome from top candidates at all levels of academic career experience who have and a demonstrated commitment to experiential learning. In particular, we are seeking scholars whose research and teaching background includes:
- energy and/or oil and gas and resources law
- aboriginal law
- business law
- constitutional law
- private law
