The University of Akron School of Law anticipates hiring a tenure-track or tenured faculty member with a particular focus in the areas of criminal law, criminal procedure, torts, trial advocacy, and litigation skills to begin teaching in Fall 2017. Experience in the areas of environmental law, professional responsibility, and health law are also of particular interest, although other subject matters may be considered. The committee is interested in candidates with scholarly distinction or great promise as demonstrated by strong early scholarship and a thoughtful agenda for future work, as well as a commitment to excellence in teaching.

Required Qualifications: Juris doctor or equivalent law degree with litigation experience.
Preferred Qualifications: A demonstrated record of or potential for successful scholarship and teaching.
