The LSAC is reporting that "As of 03/25/16, there are 305,543 applications submitted by 46,715 applicants for the 2016–2017 academic year. Applicants are up 0.7% and applications are up 1.2% from 2015–2016. Last year at this time, we had 83% of the preliminary final applicant count." Based on this preliminary data, one would predict that there will be around 56,283 applicants for 2016-17.
The administrations of the February 2016 LSAT were down slightly (0.3%) from February 2015. As I wrote back in January, I heard that the registrations for the February 2016 administration were down slightly.
The last post in this series is here.
Honestly, folks this smells like what BMW was reported to have done to "goose" sales of cars to beat Mercedes. Automotive News in its March 14, 2016 issue called it the "pressure to punch" sales. You keep posting these LSAC things....Part 16 now and it seems like all you are concerned about is goosing sales....It's not about the best interests of the profession, but a sale. The BMW tactic raises ethical questions. How about this: With every new application, why don't you just throw in Tru-Coat?
