David Garrow has an op-ed in the LA Times on the aging of Supreme Court justices. The concluding paragraph is:
Our court system and the law benefit from the wisdom of judges with many years of experience. But the federal judiciary, especially given congressional dysfunction, is simply too important to leave in the hands of old fogeys.
I think Garrow might like my short paper "The Most Senile Justice?", which is up on SSRN ... Or he might not, since I argue that the data shows that he wildly overstates the problem
