Soongsil University, located in Seoul, South Korea, seeks a professor for it's Global Law Department in the College of Law. The school offers a 2 year contract with the possibility of unlimited renewal.
Soongsil's College of Law offers an undergraduate degree (LL.B.) in Global Law. The education is focused primarily on common law based on the curriculum of American law schools. Our program is mainly designed for students who are interested in common Law and legal traditions outside of Korea. Global Law also offers courses regarding Korean law, international law including EU law. We combine the talents of the faculties of the Department of Law and the Department of Global Law to ensure a broad and deep educational experiences to students, thereby fostering global legal leaders and international legal experts. 1. Job Description:
(1) teaching to under-graduate students three law lectures per semester. Examples of courses include
Legal Research & Writing, Civil Procedure, Evidence and Real Property, Introduction to Anglo-American Law, Torts, Corporations, Securities
(2) establishing a graduate program where Korean lawyers and graduate students learn American law for preparing for a state bar exam in the U.S.
(3) supporting preparation and operation of East Asia Regaional Round[EARR] of Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition
2. Requirements:
(1) J.D. and at least 5-year practice experience after obtaining attorney license from a state bar in U.S.
(2) native English speaker [U.S. citizenship preferred]
[Korean language skills preferred but not required]
(3) proof of confession regarding Christianity [certificate of baptism etc.]
3. Salary & Benefits
(1) US $ 46,134[KW 50,000,000] plus more up to $ 18,453 [KW 20,000,000] [based on research ability e.g. publication at a journal under Social Science Citation Index]
