The noted legal ethicist, Monroe Freedman, passed away on Wednesday. He was 86. For the last 42 years, he had been a member of the Hofstra Law faculty and he served as the school's second dean. Among criminal defense attorneys, he was widely recognized for his support of zealous advocacy of criminal defendants.
