The Faculty of Law at Queen’s University invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, in the area of Business Law. A tenured appointment may be considered for outstanding candidates with a proven academic track record. The preferred starting date is July 1, 2015.
Except in exceptional circumstances, the successful candidate will have a JD / LLB or equivalent and a doctorate in law or a cognate discipline. The primary criterion for selection is excellence in both academic research and teaching.
- The successful mid-level candidate will exhibit strong potential for innovative and high quality scholarly research in the area of Business Law, leading to peer-assessed publications and the securing of external research funding. In addition, they will demonstrate strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions and an ongoing commitment to academic and pedagogical excellence, in support of the Faculty’s programs in the area of Business Law.
- In the case of a successful senior-level candidate, they will have a proven track record in the area of Business Law for innovative and high-quality scholarly research, in terms of both peer-assessed publications and external research funding, as well as a proven record of outstanding teaching contributions and an ongoing commitment to academic and pedagogical excellence.
The successful candidate will also be expected to make substantive contributions through service to the Faculty, to the University, and/or the broader community. Salary will be competitive, and commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate. All positions are subject to final budgetary approval by the University.
