Alabama in the New York Times

Given that this week has seen two articles in the New York Times about my former institution, the University of Alabama, I feel like I need to acknowledge them.  First the controversy over sorority rush and now the story about "the Machine," the greek system at UA, which worked to help a recent Alabama law school graduate in his campaign for the school board seat held by Kelly Horwitz.  There are a lot of credible allegations of impropriety by the Machine in that campaign.  It'll be really interesting to see where they go.  Not often that a school board election makes the New York Times, is it?
