UNC Chapel Hill today announced that we're partnering with Coursera to offer MOOCs (mass open online courses). One of our first four courses is an offering by my law school colleague Don Hornstein entitled "Environmental Law and Policy."
As best I can tell, Don is the first member of a law school faculty to offer an American law course in the MOOC format. (And if I am mistaken about that, then surely he is one of a very small group of trailblazers.)
It's a new world out there.
Harvard Law has an online copyright class, but it has capped the size at 500, so maybe it does not qualify as a MOOC. http://bostinno.com/2013/01/03/harvard-edx-courses-harvard-law-school-copyright-course/#ss__279656_145022_0__ss
