I am sorry to hear (via Harvard University Press' twitter feed, @Harvard_Press) that distinguished historian Thomas McCraw has passed away. The Boston Globe is reporting that he passed away on November 3. McCraw was born in Corinth, Mississippi and attended Ole Miss on a Naval ROTC scholarship, then served in the Navy and later attended the University of Wisconsin for his Ph.D. in history. He later taught for some year at UT-Austin before moving to Harvard Business School in 1976. He is best known for his book Prophets of Regulation: Charles Francis Adams, Louis D. Brandeis, James M, Landis and Alfred E. Kahn, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1985.
