The deadline for applying for a U.S. Supreme Court Fellowship is November 30 (apply here).
Over the past forty years, law professors have been well represented among the Fellows contributing to the work of the Supreme Court, the Federal Judicial Ctr., the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, and (more recently) the U.S. Sentencing Commission. This is a great opportunity for a sabbatical/leave year for profs whose scholarship would benefit from the experience.
Good luck!
The Supreme Court Fellowship pays reasonably well too, at a Grade 15 on the Government pay scale last I knew, so even if you don't have a paid sabbatical, you can take a leave of absence to participate in the Fellowship year. A great experience.
