Mark Kington, Vice-Rector of the University of Virginia's Board of Visitors, has resigned. His letter is here. Kington is a Darden Business School graduate and co-founded Columbia Capital with Mark Warner. Warner went on to become Governor and Senator and appointed Kington to the Board in 2002. He was not reappointed by Governor Kaine, but then rejoined the Board after being appointed by current Governor McDonnell. The man knows how to give to political campaingns and he's ecumenical. He donated $131,000 to Warner's Democratic gubernatorial campaign and $75,000 to McDonnell's Republican campaign.
