Brooklyn Law School has named Nicholas Allard as its new dean. Allard comes from a political background. He is currently chair of the Lobbying, Political, and Election law practice at Patton Boggs. Allard is a Yale Law grad and a former Rhodes Scholar. He has an extremely impressive CV, but he doesn't have a background in academia. In this respect, at least, Brooklyn's decision follows a path similar to another free-standing law school - New York Law School - which hired Anthony Crowell, a New York politico, as its new dean and president.
