As early as this weekend (and certainly within days thereafter), faculty hiring committees will begin scheduling callback interviews with candidates who attended the AALS Faculty Recruitment Conference. Most callback interviews will include a "job talk" component. George Washington law prof Orin Kerr offered thoughtful comments a few years ago on the job talk, and his remarks remain timely and well worth reading. Here's the link. Georgia State also offers helpful info here.
So, the AALS interviews are over. You think everything went well. But, without a callback - it didn't go as well as you thought. So, when should candidates expect to receive callbacks and when is it so long that you should stop checking your email every hour?
