I love it when a monument -- in this case a plaque in New Castle, Delaware -- discusses property law. This talks about how William Penn landed first in the Americas at New Castle and then received livery of seisen. Pretty interesting that whoever put up that monument around 1932 -- about the time that Colonial Williamsburg was getting going, btw -- thought that it was helpful/interesting that Penn participated in livery of seisen. I'm guessing that wouldn't be part of the plaque if it were put up now.
Later this week I hope to put up some more photographs of my extraordinary visit to New Castle.
