There has been plenty of talk of how the new legal economy has led a number of potential law schools to delay or reconsider their plans. Now we hear that one of the schools that had been charging forward into these winds - Louisiana College School of Law, in Shrevport - has decided to defer its first class one year, from 2012 to 2013. The official reason seems to be that the delay will give the school more time to renovate the newly acquired Waggoner Federal Building, which has been empty for several years. As it happens, this is also good news from a market perspective. This is a good time for fewer, not more, 1L seats.
Thanks for this, Dan -- here's a link to the Louisiana Law School's website: http://law.lacollege.edu/

And now is the right time to make that decision, not nine months from now, when the entering class has made arrangements to have their law school life begin.
