Today's Tuscaloosa News has the latest on the Warner art collection in Tuscaloosa. There's still no word on what happened to Asher Durand's Progress. I'm guessing -- not based on an knowledge -- (or maybe hoping is the right word for this) that it'll surface at Alice Walton's Crystal Bridges when that museum opens in November. The article mentions that Marguerite and Gerry Lenfest (of QVC fame -- and also major donors to Columbia Law School) purchased Daniel Garber's 1915 portrait Tanis (an impressionist work -- and therefore after the period of my major interest) for the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
