I just returned from the SEALS conference which was great and I wish I could have stayed longer. And I wanted to share this sign from the conference hotel.
I was wondering what you're supposed to do if you don't have a bicycle to walk with. Do they escort you from the property for failing to walk with a bicycle?
I was a bit surprised at the signs around Palmetto Dunes that said that pedestrians and cyclists must yield to cars. Seems strange, no? And contrary to all my deeply held beliefs that the world should become MORE pedestrian and bike friendly!

"I was wondering what you're supposed to do if you don't have a bicycle to walk with." That's practically straight out of one of my favorite William Safire On Language columns, about stupid signs: "'Dogs Must Be Carried Up Escalator.' I looked everywhere for a dog, but I couldn't find one, so I took the stairs."
