Fourth Circuit Judge M. Blane Michael, who sat in West Virginia, died last Friday. He was 68. He had been appointed to the bench by President Clinton in 1993.

A Judge Michael clerkship launched a number of careers in law teaching. Other former Michael clerks in the academy include Jonathan Witmer-Rich, John Taylor, Vic Fleischer, Sean Andrussier, Caroline Mala Corbin and Alex Kreit.
