Academics Protest in Scotland

Putting concerns about the management of universities into a global context, an overseas colleague drew my attention to this article from the Scottish Sunday Herald, noting a move from faculty and researchers at Glasgow University to seek a reduction in high level administrators within the university and more democratic means for appointing senior administrators.  This may be more of a concern in countries where universities are solely or predominantly public institutions, although the concerns might resonate at least to some extent in the private sphere.
