Jane Korn, the Vice Dean and John K. Lyons Professor of Law at the University of Arizona, has been named the new dean at Gonzaga School of Law effective this summer. Korn is a graduate of the University of Colorado Law School and has been at Arizona since 1986.
This hire continues to suggest, as I've blogged previously, that schools are much more open-minded about the JD granting school of decanal candidates than they are towards entry level hires.
However, as the professoriate ages, unless we see hiring of entry-level candidates with non-"elite" JDs, deans will also be more likely to be "elite."
